John,Is this done with Google ads or CloudScout?
I cannot use AFF with IE9 or Firefox as it is infested with Cloudscout and random ads appear distorting the browser window.
Flyertalk and anything else I use appears OK.

That's OK. Whatever was happening has stopped happening. Very strange. We don't- and never have - used CloudScout. As far as I can tell it is not an Ad Network anyway, but something which the user loads on their computer!
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
All the removal instructions are an ad to purchase some sort of anti adware/malware tool.CloudScout is adware / malware, not an ad network. It was likely installed when another piece of software was installed, or covertly installed when visiting another website and (mis)clicking on a link.
It appears that CloudScout tends to show up on any given website, so it's not limited to certain websites or just popups.
There are removal instructions available online, but things like this tend to be quite difficult to completely remove.
And then the CloudScout ads stopped all of a sudden.
Something weird is happening. I cannot see the CloudScout adware anywhere on my laptop. I would have thought if I did have CloudScout adware then all browsing would be affected?
Interesting researching CloudScout. Not a virus but Adware. Gets on the machine via free downloads. Can be malicious. Can takeover the browsing experience which happened to me. Is an invasion of privacy. They have a privacy policy and terms of use on their webpage. No uninstall though.

FWIW I used Ninemsn, AFF, Flyertalk and one other website and CloudScout only appeared on AFF.
I was worried so went off to Firefox and fired up GMail and AFF and guess what? CloudScout on AFF only.
Shutdown AFF from both and CloudScout not active. Ran an AVG anti virus scan with the free version and CloudScout has disappeared. Has not been seen since.
Maybe you Anti Virus software caught up and snuffed it?
Strange one indeed.Maybe you Anti Virus software caught up and snuffed it?
