Aeroplan and TK

I know 'availability' on various airlines through various FF schemes come and go for various reasons, so hopefully someone can guide me here.

I went to use Aeroplan miles on TK IST-ATH for J in November. The only choices I'm being given are Aegean Air in whY or some ridiculous choices on Air Serbia/Austrian Air via Belgrade and Vienna!

So is there an 'issue' with TK on Aeroplan at the moment - that may be resolved in time? Or is TK rarely offered on Aeroplan?

In other words - should I wait to see what happens, or look at a revenue seat?

I noticed that over the last year it's hard to find TK awards on Aeroplan even for short haul in Y. I used to easily find TK to the Gulf States up to a year ago. I'd stay a day or 2 in the UAE for shopping and then get QR back to BNE. Actually it's hard to find TK through any partners.

Google suggests calling Aeroplan, so I shall.

I have found some limited TK options coming up on line… RAK-DOH comes up, but AMS-DOH doesn’t. So there doesn’t seem to be any easily identifiable pattern.

As mentioned above, some availability doesn’t show and you can sometimes call to get it.
