“The captain reportedly assigned these flight attendants economy class seats, even though the cabin was completely empty.

During the flight, Aer Lingus Chief Operations Officer Adrian Dunne reportedly contacted the pilots, to inform them that the positioning crew could sit in business class. The captain did not comply with this request, but filed a safety report upon landing.”

I’m guessing they had to make their own coffee.

Pilot seems to be alluding to weight and balance issues. And that folk on the ground can’t give him orders about how he manages his aircraft!

The crew wouod have had a row of four seats in the centre to sleep on. Not the end of the world.

Something I didn’t know - I’d always been led to believe that weight issues were important during take off and landing , but less of an issue in flight. Are the parameters so sensitive that the location of 8 people on a 120 t aircraft is criticall during cruise?

I don’t think this is anything to do with trim.
It will be In solidarity with the striking cabin crew at MAN.
Opinions will vary as to whether that was a good thing to do or the right thing to do.

I believe he played the safety card because they tried to override the captain’s decision.

W&B to this scale is not going to be an issue during cruise.

I don’t either… but the safety card is a strong play by the captain. Could be all they need to escape sanction.
