I have a short flight or two on Aegean Airlines. Obviously, I can't directly earn Velocity points...

But, is it possible to sign up through a Star Alliance member, like Singapore Airlines / Air New Zealand and earn frequent flyer points, and then transfer them to Velocity? Or something like that?

Alternatively, I'll just sign up to Singapore Airlines' FF program -< which I assume I will be able to get points for this flight?

Cheers,

R

Short answer no

Check the kris flyer site to ensure your booking class will earn points, may be better to credit to Aegean to pick up 3 years of star alliance gold status

Yes, earns full economy rate under Kris Flyer.

Hmm, with this three years of Star Alliance Gold, is that just referring to earning 20,000 miles? Or is there some other kind of special promotion on at the moment?

I would only earn 500miles from my one booked flight, add the 1,000 for signing on..... and that leaves 1,500. I don't think I'll fly Star Alliance within 12 months, so these would "expire" since I won't get to 4,000 points.

I'm assuming that Kris FLyer points don't "expire" within 12 months.... so, whilst I would only accrue 400 Kris Flyer points, they should last at least two years? My understanding was that, like QF/Velocity, KrisFLyer miles don't expire if you re-earn within a 2 year period?
