Ok getting close to the time to book, so far thinking flying SQ from Adelaide to Frankfurt leaving around 12th Sept 2019 and SQ Paris to Adelaide six weeks latter (may return Via Perth to save on points required and fly back on a paid flight to Adelaide?)
3 of us in J
looking at catching trains and staying in the following so far
Frankfurt ( several days)
Berlin ( week or so)
Hamburg (10 days or so make it a bit of a base)
Amsterdam ( 4-7 days)
Switzerland (several Days)
Paris (several days)

also like the idea of Norway, but we don't want to be too rushed

any suggestions greatly appreciated on were to go stay and do
and if I should book with Virgin or SQ, points are going to be tight need a few more yet

Starting to get exited about the whole thin

Clive

Have you run the numbers points wise whether to book through SQ or VA?

I ran the numbers on my trip before booking and made more sense to book through VA, but all flights on SQ. Thread here:

With Adelaide you may need to try out of Perth, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane if you are getting no joy using points or Miles.
During that school holiday period I had to go London- Perth and then a flight to Adelaide.
Just stay flexible and the world can be yours.

I have read your thread travelislife and it has been really helpful and informative, from your info I'm thinking VA is the way to go, just may need to make some calls to there call centre
And I have thought of flying out of Perth Cove less points required and greater availability?
I'm going to struggle to have enough points to book the full return flight when they become available, and I like the idea of spending a few days in Singapore on the return flight, Thinking it may be a good Idea to book the return Paris to Sin and when I have more points book Sin back to ADE via whatever is available? Or should I just wait a few months and book it with points in one go?

Often I book one ways and have not experienced a problem completing a journey.
My son did have to compromise on a date but he has booked his return. It was only 2 days off his ideal trip and it was a busy travel time.
We have never stopped on the way home as once we have decided to fly home we choose the quickest way.
On the way over we break the journey with a stop at Crowne Plaza Changi.
