Hi everyone, (very) late to the party for booking a US flight to the west coast (can be into Sea-Tac, SFO, LAX etc) in January. Dates are flexible, but it is peak season and I keep on getting an insane price for Philippine Airlines, business class @ around $4,850 return. This is less than half QF, SQ & United etc are charging, but I want to know if anyone has done this route, airline or the state of their business class. I don't expect much other than a flat seat and a charging point. Thanks in advance :)

I actually don’t mind the PR product to/from Australia. Comfortable and food is pretty decent IMO. I’ve flown on their 777 and 2-2-2 seating that is angle not flat so not sure I would like it on a long haul flight to the US but it was comfy enough for a few hours. Lack of a decent FF program is a bit of a pain but at the price they offer I’ve found them to be good

Provided it uses the refurbished A333s that are 1-2-1 in J, it's fine. At present on occasion these are being replaced by A333s with a strange layout in J of 2-2-2 but with the berth/bunk at the window at a higher level than the aisle one IIRC. Also no IFE on these unrefurbished ones.

Catering should be fine on the A333s to/from SYD/MEL and the B777ERs MNL-West coast USA. I have used the latter to/from Vancouver and Toronto: the pitch is very generous, but if in a window seat, you will have to climb over your seat buddy if there is one.

I haven't had many problems using this airline: it can be underated by many reviewers, so I'd suggest availing of the 'bargain' price.
