It appears my flts bne-lax in dec. are ones I can apply for upgrades.

Looking on qantas, it appears it is 45,000 each way.

Next to my booking, it shows upgrade.

? is do I just go ahead and request seat. At present a few business seats available. but early days.

worth a go, just checking what I've said is correct. if it works would be my first upgrade. :) how does that song go 'oh, what a feeling'.
thanks in advance.

Once your booking is ticketed, you can request an upgrade with QF.

You'll want to do it as early as possible so you're at the front of the queue for Silvers and below.

Be aware that a higher status f/f will be given the upgrade even if they request it after you, but at least you'll be towards the front for no status or silver f/f.

Good luck, once you have a taste, you'll never want to go back.

Assuming your ticket is in the right booking class (ie not in N,O,Q or any other not eligible class) You cannot apply for an upgrade until 90 days before your flight. So if you click that button, you'll be told that you can't actually apply yet.

See Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions
and Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Flight Upgrades - About Flight Upgrades

You can pick the guy that always travels J international a mile away...I missed that 90 day bit..woops!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

I just found out about the 90 days.

What have I done wrong, when I looked on qf, it said pts. were 45,000 bne-lax economy to business. When I just tried to upgrade, it says 72,000???? each way, I think. there goes possible upgrade,

45,000 for Economy to Business
72,000 Discount Economy to Business

I guess your fare class is in the discount ecomony group.

With QantasFF, All International Economy revenue fares (other than full [Y] or Premium [W,T]) are considered "Discount".

Clicking the "Upgrade" link will tell when you can request an upgrade "Request period opens <date> Sep".

I would telephone Qantas FF early in the morning of that and put in my request; not wait until the online function opens.
