I am hoping to tick off another bucket list item (Scandanavia - Aurora Borealis) in Oct/Nov 19 or Feb/Mar 20). Usually I'm more organised and have a 3-4 year plan going so can watch and take advantage of upcoming flight specials/double status. However this time I'm at the mercy of the airline as I haven't monitored Europe at all. I've found in the past that Qantas (Silver QFF) often follow the same advertising timetable each year (to within a week or so). I usually travel in J overseas so really need to minimise cost and/or maximise benefits. Has anyone also been tracking the advertised specials 'roadmap' for Qantas (or code share)?

Also any thoughts/comments on flying into Berlin/Hamburg and doing small flight into Helsinki, Oslo, Copenhagen or Stockholm?

Look at Finnair for your travels to that part of the world. They have great flight specials ex Australia and ex BKK/HKG/SIN. I’d recommend that you sign up for Finnair email specials from Australia and the 3 Asian ports.

Finnair (AY) is a Oneworld partner.

Usually the most attractive option financially is to book a QF flight into Asia then connect to AY from Asia onwards.

You could possibly take advantage of a QF sale and separately an AY sale.

Excellent A350 product, particularly in J.
