I read in the terms that selections from the kids menu do not attract a discount. Does this mean when I dine with my husband and two kids , my kids will pay full price from the kids menu and my husband and I will receive a 50% discount? This is probably preferable then our bill getting only a 25% discount due to 4 people dining. Anyone had any experience with this?

I think you are correct, but you are probably best to confirm by asking them via Facebook

I didn't get to ask on Facebook before heading out to dinner last night. A family of 4 with kids aged 5 and 8. We were charged as though we were a group of 4 despite the kids having eaten off the kids menu i.e. 25% off. I queried this to no avail.

I have Sent a message to Facebook page this morning for clarification.

I have experienced this quite a lot with Accor.

I use my card on my family - 2 adults and 2 children (under the age of 8).

Most of the time we get 50% off the whole bill when dining.

But according to the terms and conditions - it should be 25% off as it calculates the number of persons dining - not the age of the people.

At the same time - it is up to the discretion of the restaurant manager at that time - or whoever is doing your bill.

So if the manager/staff is nice enough - they will give you 50% of the bill (regardless if it is an adult or kids meal).

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I spoke to an accor rep on the phone who advised it should have been 50% with kids paying full price off the children's menu. I also asked this on Facebook but the reply there didn't go into any clarification only that they would take it up with the restaurant, which by the way is Graze at the new Elements resort in Byron Bay. Upon speaking with Accor I rang back the day after we dined and the person I spoke to concurred. They were to get back to me to fix our bill but yet to hear. I really wanted this clarified as I was hoping to dine there a bit with the family as we are local.

Accor got back to me via Facebook and advised that my husband and I should have been charged 50% as long as the kids ate from the children menu. They have updated the hotel and sending us two buffet breakfast vouchers for having been inconvenienced. :)

When I stayed at Mercure Koodinah Waters three of us (including a two year old toddler) was given 50% discount off the entire bill, including the children's menu.

Seems to me it is differently interpreted across each of the hotels.
