I believe the new system just takes the cheapest of the two nights as free, using normal rates, whatever normal rates are. Platinum guarantee at Port Macquarie Ibis Styles is $5500 a night next kings birthday weekend, so I would save $5500 but be spending $5500, err no thanks

Nope, no allocation.

This is huge then. Although some hotels appear to be missing on that list. Eg Raffles Bali. Is there a list of hotels that don't participate?

The Accor website says the most expensive night is free.

Here’s how it works from 1 October 2025:

• To redeem ALL Accor+ Explorer Stay Plus FREE Nights: book at least two consecutive nights – pay for one night, and use your FREE Night for the other
• The FREE Night applies to the most expensive night in your booking

Black out dates still apply so I suspect this sort of thing will be blocked.

Blackout dates apply to the plat guarantee, if I can see those rates there is no block, not that I would be interested. Pretty used to Accor and their little # etc after 20 years as plat

If I'm not mistaken, there are no allocations to use the Stay Plus night after 1 Dec so you just need to book a minimum of two nights accomodation and the more expensive of the two will be free.

I.e. gone are the days of looking for availability!
