Accor Plus Membership Discussion

I received one in May without requesting it. Amex Plat comp membership.

The letter had Amex co-branding and I'm guessing there's a contractual requirement between Accor & Amex to supply physical renewal kits - if anything to remind the cardholder about the benefits they're getting for the $ they pay Amex

For a moment, I thought SYD+1 and I had new cards in the mail today but they were Medicare cards! 😁

As an aside, strange we both received new ones on the same day…🤷‍♂️

Aren’t you listed on each other’s Medicare cards?

Yes sometimes people get upgraded to suites but not not always, and I suspect not outside the region (i.e. try getting upgraded to a Suite at a Sofitel in Zürich for instance).
Hi All, a question about Red Rooms. The list I search for 'Australia' seems to be very small and last minute.

However, I did a normal hotel search with time and location say the Gold coast and found some not listed in the above. Are red rooms random? What is a good way for searching them, as the official search does not seem to return all possible results.
Yes the search functionality isn't particularly good. Your best bet is to check the Accor site.
Also, of note perhaps, they indicated that physical Accor+ cards are no longer being sent out, unless a member insists. OK by me and I'd prefer to get by without one, and will see how that goes. Is refusal of the digital card 'a thing' in any specific places, or countries? Heading soon back to Singapore & Malaysia.
I received a physical card in June
I concur with Lynda2475 having received my new physical card in April when I renewed. It could be because I'm an Accor+Platinum member. In terms of whether you need the physical card, absolutely not. The card itself doesn't have anything special that the digital card doesn't already have. And in my experience using Accor+ at restaurants (where you need to flash the card to get the dining discount), they had no problem accepting the digital card.

The one benefit I do see about the physical card is that I can hand that off to the waiter instead of my phone.

I have not received my 20 bonus nights yet. Should I contact them?
I renewed on the 2nd August

Yes but people have mentioned the 20 bonus nights for just having an Accor card?

Have I got this wrong?
Yes, for those have recently renewed the bonus nights can take up to a month.
You renewed on August 2nd so it could take up to a month for the 20 nights to be credited

Maybe I have it wrong. I thought that everyone got 20 bonus nights for just having the card and then got another 20 when they renewed. I renewed early as they rang me. My renewal is not due until the end of the month.

Members that had an Active Accor Plus membership on July 31 are getting 20 nights. But there is no actual entry in your account to reflect this, the total just goes up by 20.

Ok thanks. I had an active membership then.
My total has not gone up yet, has yours @oz_mark

I had a funny one - my Accor+ renews on 31 July. They gave me 40 nights initially (bumping me right up to Plat)

Then they removed 20 nights (putting me back on 44 nights), but at least I'm still Plat ...

There was a LL article on this. Apparently an IT stuff up (issuing 40 not 20). The article didn’t know at the time what would happen in this scenario.

In Sydney?! I saw a few places in Bali which were around that price as well.
That was Ibis St Peters (Sydney). Going by recent Google reviews (and even those on Accor's own site), this place seems to be the lowest of the low, quality wise (reviews speak of blood stains on sheets, 1 stars etc) so definitely only a place good for a mattress run if you don't actually need a place to stay in!

The 40 night (single addition, and subsequent removal of 20 nights) has been reported elsewhere as a system error and correction by Accor.
It looks like the bonus arrangements were announced 1 Aug (according to the Accor annoucement email date). So technically your 31 Jul 2023 renewal was just prior to the promo. The system should have given you 20 nights from 1 aug (as an existing member), and come renewal on 31 Jul 2024, give you the additional 20 nights (for renewing).
