I've just signed up to Accor Plus after staying with my brother and sister in law at the Pullman in Brisbane and having a wonderful experience being upgraded to an executive room etc (they have Gold status). I haven't stayed at many Accor hotels in the past but we are planning on at least 10 nights over the coming few months and I wanted to trial Accor Plus for a year or two to see if it's worth it for me.

I know that I will start at silver status which doesn't give much benefit. Since signing up I noticed that it is possible to get an ibis Business subscription which gives automatic gold status. Is it possible to subscribe to both programs at the same time so that I can use the gold status for possible room upgrades etc in my upcoming stays?

Thanks for your help.

I got in touch with Accor via Facebook and got this reply;

"unfortunately our system can currently only handle one subscription per member. As such, if you were to also subscribe to ibis Business within the system you would be two people (and you would require a different email address for your ibis Business and Le Club membership to your Accor Plus and Le Club membership email. I am sorry it is currently so complicated."

I knew deep down it would be too good to be true.

So if you just had a non subscription account with Accor and got the ibis Business card, you would be Gold?

or could you just have a different email but the same account number?

yes if you had no paid membership you can apply for ibis business.
you can open a brand new account but then your points status etc would be over two accounts

don't think you can two emails for the same member#

Will need to look at the benefits of the ibis business versus the benefits of the accor plus then, as to me just now looking at it lightly it would make more sense to get the ibis business instead of the accor plus, you miss out on the free night but gain gold status

A+ also gets you dining discounts which as a solo traveler for work I seem to use quite a bit.
Not to say I don't use it if travelling with the family

I had just signed up for A+ but wondering if i've done the right thing, I mainly wanted it for a trip I have in October to Sydney for the Sofitel Darling Harbour, but my free night still hasn't been loaded onto my account yet, but it is only 24hrs since I got the email saying my A+ account was open, I had paid for it earlier in the day, but i'm guessing they took time to open the account, I can also only log onto Accor and not Accor +, i'm guessing this is a timescale issue and I just need to wait

I signed up for the first time about a month ago and it took a few days for the free night to show up.

Just now my head says that Accor Plus is good for the free night and then the 50% off food, after that booking would be better through Ibis Business?

I'm not after points so don't mind 2 accounts or if one needs to be in my wifes name, only thing i'm wondering is does Accor Plus get better hotel rates than Ibis Business?

The Ibis card will give you better rates at Ibis hotels (which aren't great in my opinion) but the Accor Plus card at silver status (in my dummy bookings) gives a better rate than a standard Accor Gold member.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Handy to know, that’s what I’m after really, a better rate, as it’s not for business but for pleasure.

Does anyone know if I book more than one room does that count as just one nights stay or the number of nights x rooms?

EDIT:

Room booked using free night, but was still charged a bit? Am guessing this was due to the current promo??

how’s the price for a+ vs ibis business/accor gold?

I already have a+ from my amex platinum card, thinking of getting the ibis business for room upgrade

I'm interested in signing up to A+ or Ibis business primarily for the dining benefits. If Ibis business gives you gold status, then does this mean that one would have A+ gold status? I've only just began looking into it.

Last time I tried you couldn't have both memberships on the same account. Only A+ gets you dining benefits iirc.

A+ can be had for ~$200/yr with the free night as well

Do you mean that the value of free night essentially brings down the price of the A+ membership or is there a different way of obtaining a membership fee around $200?

I actually just got off the phone from a Accor Plus Telemarketer who stated that Ibis Business card (which I currently have) complements A+ membership. Said that I could indeed gain dining benefits & free night, as well as keeping Accor Gold.

Obviously if this is the case & especially if I can still get 5k VFF pts as a sign up bonus, I'd be likely to join.

Hi Genji88,

will both the IBIS Business card and A+ card can link to the same Accor account?
