Accor Plus 10% off best available public room rate not applied?

Anyone had any experience with this. Was looking to book the Pullman in Port Douglas. I noticed the Accor Plus rate is identical to the rate Joe Public can get (checked using a private browsing window, so I wasn't logged in etc).

The advertised benefit is 10% off that rate. Anyone noticed this not applying (I've checked, not an excluded property)? Any luck with getting it applied by booking over the phone?

I haven’t had that particular one, but as I’ve said before, I’ve found Accor ‘beneficial rates’ to be dodgy much of the time.
 
Well just to close the loop. Issue seems to have resolved itself now. Even better there now seems to be a sale on with a more favourable cancellation policy (previously was a week in advance) as well as saving $100/night + the 10% discount. Sometimes things just work out :)
 
I had that situation once and tried to contact them and got some BS automated response so gave up but looks like you've won anyway
 
I noticed that this week when booking a hotel on the Sunshine Coast - the same rate was for members, special emergency services discount rate (supposedly) and if you were not a member. Did not bother phoning and booked anyway. It was the same on Hotels.com so figured what the heck.
 
I’ve not had the issue reported by @Daver6 in his OP, but another thing to watch is that you can sometimes be quoted a higher price when clicking through via Cashrewards.

I booked one today where the room was $184 via CR with 2.1% cash back or $177 booked direct. Same room type, same terms etc.

This may be a Cashrewards thing, not Accor but I’ve seen it on several occasions booking Accor properties.
 
Once again, I'm having this issue again. Super frustrating.

I also find constantly being shown no Accor Plus free night availability. The pain of attempting to use the free night and 10% discount are starting to be more pain that the savings are worth :(

Eg, I search the Cairns area for forward dates and show zero free night availability. That just can't be right.

And other strange thing. I can check say the Sofitel in Brisbane and it will show availability for a free night. Do the same search again 10 minutes later and no availability. Something is definitely up with this.

Are you sure you are not searching on a date past your Accor Plus membership expiry date? If you do, that will always show zero availability for free nights since you can't use your Stay Plus credit past your expiry date. I actually just booked a hotel in Cairns in January 2022 and most Cairns hotels show full availability of free night availability across January.

My wild guess is that the Accor system "thinks" you are booking(if you clicked into the specific hotel) and thus "holding" the room for you, even though you have logged out. This may take some time for them to be put back into the system. Though I agree with you that their IT problem can be quite flawed.
 
Are you sure you are not searching on a date past your Accor Plus membership expiry date? If you do, that will always show zero availability for free nights since you can't use your Stay Plus credit past your expiry date. I actually just booked a hotel in Cairns in January 2022 and most Cairns hotels show full availability of free night availability across January.
No, definelty not the issue. My "year" commences 1st September and I'm looking at October. I have two free nights. Additionally I can get the odd free night to show as mentioned below for the same month.

My wild guess is that the Accor system "thinks" you are booking(if you clicked into the specific hotel) and thus "holding" the room for you, even though you have logged out. This may take some time for them to be put back into the system. Though I agree with you that their IT problem can be quite flawed.

It can actually be days later on a different computer that it will won't show availability. Then the following week voilla, back again.

I can see full availability of Stay Plus free nights on both dates that you mentioned.

I found that when you see the banner of "David, your Stay Plus compimentary........" it is an Accor system error in the account(perhaps had been searching for free nights a lot during the same log-in) and sometimes the problem can be resolved automatically by logging out and then log back in(or log in the next day). See if that works.

Thanks for checking for me. At least I now know it's an issue with my account.

I tried logging out and in again. Issue persists. Logged out, cleared cookies etc, problem still persists. Total PITA :(
 
If you log out and in again and problem persists, maybe try using your mobile(using your mobile data/VPN rather than the home internet VPN) or vice versa and see if it helps.

Oh then it's definitely account problem. I run out of idea and sorry can't help you more. Perhaps wait for few days(as I see lots of availability in multiple Cairns hotels) or ring Accor Plus to sort this out then.

This has been an ongoing issue for me. I've been dreading having to call but looks like I have no choice. Really appreciate your checking of dates for me. Thank you! :)
