Accor - Platinum Benefits?

+1... Having to ask makes it less enjoyable. But sometimes if you want or need the particular benefit you have no other option than to ask / politely remind.

+1 here as well. For my stay last week, I wouldn't have asked for the upgrade had I ended up in a standard room, nor for the bottle of red. My stay was from 7pm until 8am the next morning, so hardly had any time to enjoy those benefits anyway (well, took the bottle of red home for later). But I asked for the lounge as I wanted to have breakfast the next morning.

I only asked for the red because they offered it as an "apology" then failed to deliver it. I was also offered "complimentary breakfast" as an apology, but they failed to tell me where, or that in fact breakfast was already comped as a platinum. Bit of a benefit fail.

I am note sure Breakfast is, in fact, a specific Le Club Accor Platinum benefit.

Lounge access is, and that generally includes breakfast; individual properties may or may not comp. breakfast in the the main restaurant for Platinum.

And then they they tried to charge for the bottle at checkout...

At Pullman Hyde Park you get Executive benefits which includes breakfast in lounge but you can also have breakfast for free in main restaurant if choice isn't up to your liking in exec lounge, this is the same for the other half dozen or so executive lounges I have stayed in Asia Pacific. I am staying in Pullman Brisbane next month so hopefully same applies.

Breakfast was offered in our choice of the lounge or restaurant in Brisbane over the weekend.

Sort of what I meant, sorry. That's the benefit at that hotel (and some others). Was told as reception that it was part of the "Executive Package". Yet they offered breakfast as an apology, when it was already included.

Yeah was not too impressed with that. Good wine though.

What type of room upgrade did you get?

None :( Hence the massive disappointment given expectations based on this thread.

Stayed in 3 different Novotels in the UK this month.
Platinum Accor Member.

1 - Waterloo Novotel - Allowed early check in and late check out.
No other benefits.

2 - Cardiff Novotel - Voucher for 1 welcome drink at the bar.
No other benefits. (Didn't ask for late check out as not required.)

3 - Tower Hill Novotel - Voucher for 1 welcome drink at the bar and a thank you note in the room.
No other benefits. (Didn't ask for late check out as not required, though early check in was declined due to no room availability.)

Really poor in my opinion and hardly worth using apart from the points earned.
The 'free' internet was the same as everyone staying at the hotel, with faster internet a paid extra if required.

HHonors Gold benefits are so much better than Accor Platinum. (And at the very least Hilton gives you 2 drink vouchers if 2 guests are staying!!!!!)

Good outcome from the BNE Pullman regarding our stay on the weekend.

Stayed at Novotel Sydney Central last night and the welcome drink was a bottle of wine delivered to the room. No upgrade but they said they were booked out.

Novotel Brisbane, Creek St. 1 drink voucher (draft beer), no upgrade.
Here for 3 nights, that 1 draft beer is getting warm.

People pointing out the meagre benefits of Platinum status whilst staying in Novotels should remember that benefits are only supposed to apply to the premium Accor hotel brands (ie. Sofitel, MGallery and Pulman). In addition to the triple points, anything else you get in the other brands is entirely discretionary.

New Accor actually quotes room upgrade & welcome gift at Novotel if I'm not mistaken.

Whilst extra privileges generally apply at the higher end hotels, its not true that none are applicable at Novotels, although their value might not be perceived to be much:

Platinum members are not asked for a payment guarantee upon arrival and can enjoy 10% off on well-being care at Thalassa Sea & Spa institutes.

From memory when I spoke to Accor when they introduced their new privilege program, this list applies at all where avaiable (apart from the side notes), with specific other benefits based on the brand (except embarrassingly at the MEL & SYD sofitel, which Accor forgot to mention (BNE already not accepting le club Accor)). Other benefits include an ironing service etc. The one that I haven't seen yet is best available room upgrade at the mercure. I've been upgraded, but not to the best available.

Hi,
Is Platinum card continuous or reviewed annually dependent on number of points accrued?
Thanks
