Just what we need, another brand!

Accor’s economy lifestyle brand, greet, has made its Pacific debut with the opening of Iris Capital’s greet Hotel Alice Springs.

The hotel giant announced plans to bring greet to the region in May, as part of an expansion of the brand outside of Europe, where it has dozens of properties. The hospitality concept is designed for “modern travellers”, with the move to launch in the Pacific outlined as part of the group’s plans to enhance its franchise offering in the region.

The greet brand is focused on informal hospitality, offering owners a “flexible pathway to reposition existing hotels with distinctive local character and contemporary relevance”, the group revealed earlier this year.

The 80-room greet Hotel Alice Springs is centrally located close to key attractions, shopping, and local experiences, and features relaxed social and communal spaces, as well as F&B outlets, Stumps Café and Uncle’s Tavern.

Sounds a bit like Giligans in Cairns!

I was curious about how the European concept would translate to Australia, so I did some research.
Now I am even more curious about the straps on the bedhead.
Is there a BDSM theme at play here?

I don't really see the point, Ibis is right there?
The key concept seem to be "positive hospitality".
Not a term I would ever apply to Ibis properties.

There also seems to be an emphasis on spaces for social interaction between guests.
Another concept I would not associate with an Ibis property.
Everyone at an Ibis wants to be somewhere else!

Utimately adding more and more brands is less about the guests and more about giving hotel owners options, so they have a unique brand for a geography and not directly competing against another hotel of the same brand a few km down the road.
