Signature did not really give you nights as such. It gives you status points that allow you to get status. These status points show in my status points tally in the app. But then this year, they added “bonus nights” as a new thing and as an Absolute member, I got 3x5 actual night credits, that show in my nights tally on the app. These bonus nights are in addition to the status points. And based on the T&Cs quoted by
@markis10 and
@serfty and others, I did NOT expect these signature nights to stack with the Explorer nights. But so far, in my account, they
have stacked. This is contrary to my expectation, the experience of others like
@Tlee, and the T&Cs.
So as per @Human’s post, I think that is very misleading. Of course Accor could say “-15 nights that you were not entitled to count” - but it is pretty poor form when they themselves have counted those nights - at least so far. For 6 months. And even poorer form to let someone think they are within 3 nights of retaining and then find they are actually quite a few nights away. So the real crunch will come when I get the last few nights required to retain Platinum and see what they do.
Now it won’t affect me - because I am going to retain and level up based on status points earned. But it is poor form for sure.
