Hi there, I am sure this has been asked and answered before, but could not find it. Is the Accor Advantage Plus annual membership worth it? or can you really just get enough from the Loyalty card.

Hi Deborah, I have had the card and membership for about 7 years now and I have felt that we have definitely got our moneys worth.

The 50% sales are good value and we have used the 50% off dining a lot.
I have always managed to get my free night always when I want it, and at my favourite hotels.
For an example I am using my free night in Melbourne at the Sofitel, we are staying 4 nights so I rang and the operator booked it for me so that I could use points and my free night for the one stay, which is usually not allowed.

We have also been able to use it for weekends away with friends and I can book 2 rooms at my rate.

Some will say they are not a fan but for us it has worked well.

No problems, only received a while ago myself.

Thanks for the tip Flyer 777, haven't received a email about the sale.

I am an Adv Plus Gold member and haven't received notification of the sale either. Nothing on either Adv Plus or Le Club homepage but found the link to the sale by gong to Accorhotels.com - ' offers and deals - great deals at accorhotels.com'

Just about to call Adv Plus/Accor when the offer came through.

Just to let everybody know - Both my husband and I have been members of Advantage Plus for a few years now and have felt that their program was worthwhile - that is up until recently.
We booked our complimentary night at the Clarke Quay Novotel for our stopover during our return trip from Copenhagen. On the basis that our room was complimentary we upgraded. All was confirmed in an email from the Accor website.
On checkout the Staff member at the Novotel said that there wasn't a complimentary room on our card and that we would be charged for the room and the upgrade.
On returning to Australia we received an email from the Novotel saying that they would add the cost of the room to our credit card on top of the amount already paid for the upgrade.
On contacting Accor member services I was told that there wasn't a free night as we had already redeemed it at a previous stay in Brisbane (which was correct) and that because of the redemption we should have realised that the confirmation sent to us couldn't be honoured.
I was aware of the one free night policy but I naively assumed that we must have had another free night available to us from previous years or from a promotion etc. Silly me I actually accepted that the confirmation from the web site was a confirmation!
I certainly wouldn't have upgraded if I was aware that the free night wouldn't have been honoured (as I have found that most Novotel upgrades are not worth the extra) and I probably wouldn't have stayed at the Novotel as there are significantly more properties to choose from in Singapore!
After a heated conversation where Accor wouldn't budge I suggested that they do not contact me re renewal in 2016.
For your information

Soooooooooooo you're upset that you tried to scam a free night (even though you had already used your complimentary night) and didn't get away with it?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

You can easily check your free night status online so you cant blame Accor for this one

Don't bother asking Accor to not contact you next year. They will happy to have one less cheapskate customer.

There was no intention to scam and I would suggest that we wouldn't be regarded as cheapskates.
What i said was that I believe that their web system is misleading when it prints a confirmation which isn't really a confirmation.
When i booked the accommodation online I was asked by the system if I wanted to use my benefits (I think that was the terminology) and when I accepted, the complimentary night appeared. I was surprised when it did appear but thought that it may have been a promotion or something.
I was obviously naive in believing that the option was available even though it was their system which offered it.
As I said I won't have to worry about a next time as there won't be one after approximately 15 years of family membership.
