Accompanying child access with a single use QP "Complimentary Invitation"

Such sentiment is trolling for an argument IMHO.

Many of us (myself included) have had our rugrats travel without any issue (nor did they cause annoyance to those around them on the aircraft or in the lounge).

What's the old adage? Don't judge a book by its cover?

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion but a blanket statement about all children is hardly appropriate. Whilst in lounges, I have seen many adults making far more noise and behaving in a less than acceptable manner than many of the children!!

I have used single use QP '"Complimentary Invitation" passes twice recently without issue. In Perth, I used one pass to get myself and 2 kids (aged 13 and 11) in to the lounge. On the return flight, I used a second single use invite to get myself, my wife and kids in to the lounge at Melbourne. Both lounges were busy (Perth is ALWAYS busy in my experience!) and no questions were asked.

Without issue in PER? That is the first place you are likely to encounter resistance!
 
I am traveling next week from ADL with my 3 year old and have a QP single entry pass to use - will see what happens and let you know

I am sure that I asked this same question on AFF some time ago, and that Redroo replied that for club access with a guest pass the same rules apply as for access with status or QP m'ship. Therefore your children are not considered "guests" under the QF lounge rules and can accompany you on the guest pass.
 
If it's not peak time, Qantas is generally pretty reasonable with children in the lounge. A couple of years ago, when I was 16, my father was able to get his wife and three children (me included) into the lounge in Adelaide with a Gold FF membership. As long as they're not going to cause problems, Qantas is pretty open to letting children into the lounge from my experience.
 
No problems at all - the lounge attendants let me and my 3 year old (in pyjamas) straight in. The staff were really great inside the lounge also - coming to our table and asking if I'd like a coffee or drink, one even offered to make me a toasted sandwich! I've only been in Q lounges a few times before and never seen that. Perhaps the fact that I was alone with a toddler and a few bags helped but I was really impressed. Makes me think more about trying harder to attain status or buy QC (which I guess is the point of handing out trial passes isn't it?).
 
I you don't fly often enough to need QP membership, but you still want to access the lounge, you can get an AMEX Qantas Premium card, which comes with 2 QP passes every year.
 
I tried to use my 2 complimentary lounge passes (ANZ black) for my wife, my 4 year old and me at SYD in March. Access was denied as 'you need another pass for your son'. This is despite of lounge being very quiet. No problems, we just went to the AMEX lounge. Whilst it didn't matter, it was not a very family friendly practice

I agree and the staff were also wrong IMO.
Pretty sure Red Roo has stated on here that the family access policy applies to complimentary passes as well as standard membership.

I've pointed that out too, but to no avail. Staff member went to supposedly check with her supervisor who also decided that we could not access the lounge without the 3rd pass. I didn't bother arguing further as I knew that I could just go downstairs to the AMEX lounge (and they were most accommodating too, really family friendly). On my return, I twitted Qantas, and received call from one of their service managers - the official policy is that children over 2 years of age require a separate pass, but it is up to staff to use discretion. Like I said, I didn't think that was a very family friendly practice

It also contradicts QF's own website:

If you are travelling with your family, you may also be able to bring your children into the lounge subject to the child access guide. If you are travelling with more than two children, the Qantas lounge manager will try to accommodate them, subject to reviewing the space available in the lounge. If your children are older than 18 they are considered as a guest.

Where the child access guide states:
