Hi all,

I'm planning on doing my final SC run CBR-MEL to reach WP for the first time. I'd like to use the Business lounge and bring two guests - my brother and his partner, who are flying to CBR on a VA flight. As I will hit 1410 SCs on the flight down (currently 1330 + 160 SCs for doubled J class), will Qantas recognise the new status immediately? I know that it won't register on their systems immediately, but I wonder whether I can show them that I was at 1330 using my Qantas app, with the used J ticket from that day, which, even without the doubled SCs, would have triggered 1410 points and WP qualification.

Has anyone had experience utilitising lounges before the numbers appear on their account? Perhaps with the ticket showing the final SCs required?

Thanks all.

All you can do is try, but I think it's going to come down to how friendly they are feeling as technically you will not have the status at that time.

(And unless I've misunderstood, you'll only have flown one leg of the trip required to qualify - CBR-MEL is 40SCs, the doubled status credits don't post for 6-8 weeks so at most you would be able to show 1370 SCs).

Hi cmdwedge, unfortunately your WP status won't be recognised until the actual SCs post. Noting you're going to be waiting for DSCs then it may be up to 6-8 weeks until they actually post.

Ah bugger. Yeah 40 SCs x2 is 80 SCs but I didn't know about them not posting for a while. Nevermind!

Difference will be the wait for the DSC to post but I recall when first making it to WP the flight that ticked over was PER-SYD-BNE when I landed in SYD the SC had already posted and I could access the J lounge.....didn't know until I got to the QC and the lounge angel told me I could go to the J lounge instead.
