I tried searching, but couldn't find anything about this - forgive me if it has been discussed. I'm a CUB (paid life QC member) and about to start posting most of my QF domestic flights to AAdvantage (ordinary basic level), but I don't want to lose the benefits of my QP membership (in particular, the free second checked bag on domestic flights, QC/Business checkin lines, and access to the QP.

If I start quoting my AAdvantage number on my profiles, will I then be denied the benefits of my QP membership when checking in/checking bags/getting access to the QP? Do I need to leave my QFF membership number on my bookings and then get it changed when I get to the QP and I'm inside, with all bags checked?

Thanks for your help if you've had experience with this situation.

Just flash the QC card and you should be fine. Keep your QFF number away from the booking at all times.

Ah - thank you - now the question is, if you already have your QFF booking in there, and you want it scrubbed, what do you need to do to get your AAdvantage number in there and secure so that it will credit without problems?

I think the only thing you may lose is your seat allocation preference (eg. forward aisle, window, etc.) from your QP profile...all the rest (priority checkin and QP access chief among them) should remain, courtesy flash of card.

Not that Forward Aisle seems to be a preference you can select any more. More like Forward, Aisle (which seems to turn into a request for Front of Aircraft) or Aisle, Forward.

After making AA plat I tended to get my seating prefs on QF more often than when I was only in QF.Everything else is as said just flash the card.

Fair call drron, but OP is (ordinary basic level) AA, so may take some time for him/her to attain status and be able to get seating according to preference.
