Hi

I am flying SYD --> AKL next week. I am gold on QF but OWE (through CX). Even though the status credits aren't much, all things being equal I would like to credit the flight to QF but use my CX status to access the F lounge.

So .. will the QF F lounge staff allow me in just by flashing my CX Diamond card, or will they require me to have my CX number on the boarding pass? And, are the guesting rules different in either case (I would like to bring one guest)

Anyone have any recent experience?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Matt

If you are flying on a QF service the best thing to do is put the CX# in to the booking, then get it changed when in the lounge, or at the gate.

It is likely they will scan your BP and note the FF# that way.

Note if you're on an EK operated flight with QF flight number a CX FF# will not get you in as it is not an OW flight.

If this was me travelling, I would have my One World Emerald FF number in the booking to start, then use those benefits for seat selection, check-in etc. Then once at the lounge with a boarding pass that clearly shows I am entitled to entry, I would ask the lounge service desk agent to change the FF number in the booking and re-print the boarding pass for me (checking that it now shows the other FF details). I do this regularly with my QFF number in the booking and changing to my AAdvantage number at the lounge. IN my experience, once admitted to the lounge with the appropriate credentials on the boarding pass, changing the FF details does not remove your lounge entitlement in the mind of the lounge service desk agent.
