As qf ff member, will I have access to the seattle alaskan airline board room? When I accessed it a couple of yrs. ago I had access under qf qc member (I was gold at time). I was told that is how I had access, not flying discount first. Now platinum. TIA

Just returned from a trip during which I took 3 flights on ticketed on AS flight numbers. The policy was signposted clearly outside one Alaska Boardroom: elite members from Qantas and other partners are granted lounge access when travelling on either AS or QF ticketed flights with Alaska Airlines or their subsidiaries. One guest allowed.

I didn't see any sign at ANC last year. I just assumed I wasn't entitled to access on a QF code share. Damn, don't tell me I sat in the terminal for 2 hours unnecessarily

AS made me pay $50 excess baggage too, because it was more than a certain number of hours until my QF flight home (can't recall how many hours now).:evil:

Oh well, at least the flight was ok and I got SCs for it.

We were charged USD 20 per checked bag, there were no free bags for Qantas WP status. Any bag over 50 lbs costs USD 50.

I was told that as I was on a QF flight number, I would have got a free bag even if it was over 50 lbs, if my QF flight had been closer in time to my arrival at LAX. I think it was a 12 hour cut off. Over 12 hour layover - you're stuck with AS baggage rules whether on AS or QF flight number; under 12 hours then QF baggage entitlements would have prevailed if on QF flight number.

No, Anna, I didn't. I was on AA, unsure if this was the reason, although I had read that AA eligible ff members have access.

About 4 years ago I was there flying on AS in first, I was given access but can't remember why as there was something about, access based on ?, and non-access based on ?. Too long ago now.

I didn't mind sitting out in the terminal, very light and large terminal.

I flew SEA-DFW in Oct on AA metal as QF WP. I couldn't access the Alaskan lounge. I would only have been able to access it if I had AA lounge membership or had been flying on AS metal (in F is my only other experience ex-SEA).
AA F passengers on AA metal have no lounge access unless they have Admiral's club membership.

The terminal is rather nice, lots of interesting shops, and light and airy as parsonstrish mentions. The AS lounge was also quite a walk away from the gate AA was using, at least for my flight.

If your Boarding pass shows the "F" fare bucket before an AS metal flight then access is granted.

Little bit of thread necromancy on my behalf.

Looking for advice, seen a few conflicting posts and info.

Flying on AS metal with a QF codeshare flight number (QF ticketed connecting from MEL) through to SEA as a WP1 in whY. Any access to the AS lounge in T3?

thanks in advance!

WP1 is OWE outside the Qantas network and code shares.

l presume you mean LAX, in which case AS now use T5.

I believe a WP gets BR access at some airports flying QF*AS, but something is telling me LAX is not one of them.

At PDX, they had a sign up that said basically only those flying F or J would get access to the BR. No mention of status-based access.

Had to think about this one as in my experience I've never been denied access as WP to a BR however I've never not been in F, and have always been on an AA ticket.

SEA dom lounge you are correct serfty "F" fare bucket (AS metal) allowed but any form of upgrade not allowed is what the lounge angel told me (she also stated many disappoint OW clients) but Int lounge allows QP, SG and WP.

I'm just glad my question wasn't a dumb one, perhaps it's time to ask Red Roo?

(Leaving SEA I'll be on AA metal in F at OMG o'clock so it doesn't bother me) but coming in on QF 94 I'd love a shower before connecting to SEA.

Given its a QF flight number I would have thought that they would share the love? ;)

I could not find any reference to OW status access rights

"..... Passengers traveling on a paid First Class fare, or a First Class Award ticket (A, D, F, or P classes of service) have access to the Alaska Airlines Board Room included in their ticket (excluding reciprocal agreements with other airline clubrooms). Passengers traveling on an upgraded ticket booked in U class do not have access..."

http://www.alaskaair.com/content/gifts-and-products/board-room/boardroom-policies-and-rules.aspx

Please tell us if Red Roo has any positive news, and whether it is limited to WP1 only.
