Hi everyone,

I will shortly get an ABN and wondered about any tips and tricks in term of points accrual. As a foreign national the concept of an ABN is new to me but I'm getting the idea.

As background I will be working as a GP, so although I will have an ABN I will not have much, if any, business expenditure as we usually contract to an established practice which takes care of advertising, rent and rates etc.

In that case the only change I can think of to my current situation as an employee without an ABN will my annual ATO tax return so I will research the best method of paying. I've never had to do this before.

I currently hold Amex Explorer, Amex Platinum Edge, and Coles Platinum Mastercards. From memory these might be decent options for the ATO. Are there any other cards to consider now that I hold an ABN?

Any advice is appreciated.

register a Company instead, Doesnt cost as much as people say, and there are more benefits you can get as a Company. included but not limited to;
Exempt Fringe benefits,
company maintained car
travel allowances.

You need to do all your own research into the above, because this is not advice.
