We plan to introduce new service between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Shanghai (PVG), with flights beginning in the summer of 2014. We're excited to be the first U.S. carrier to offer this convenient nonstop route, which will complement existing service between our Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) hubs and Shanghai. Booking details available soon.

Great Now I can go to the US out of BNE with one stop. And it will be their new 773 on the route.

It looks like it would come close to flying over the North Pole.

Probably, I did ITM to JFK a number of times ( once by mistake -wrong plane) which flew a similar path and the views were spectacular.

In addition, we will end American's service from New York/JFK to Tokyo/Haneda, with the last eastbound flight on Dec. 1, 2013. This is a route we worked hard to secure as part of the 2010 Open Skies agreement between the United States and Japan. While we are disappointed to end this route, our Tokyo/Haneda flight has been quite unprofitable, largely because we are allowed to operate only during severely restricted hours, limiting our customers' options for connecting flights to and from other Asian markets. Our decision to finally cancel the service followed multiple unsuccessful attempts to persuade the U.S. and Japanese governments to reach an agreement to eliminate all schedule constraints at Tokyo/Haneda. ...

The 0650 departure of the HND flight is just awful. No public transport running at that time.So in December I chose the NRT-DFW-LGA for our Aawards.

I guess the 10:40pm arrival was pretty bad as well.

Well CX don't go to DFW so it's not like AA are cutting their lunch. They still codeshare on all the CX services HKG-US though. This is the first AA service to HKG though right? Will be good since they are running the same J product as CX too. What's F like on the AA 773?
