Late night sax, honeymoon... Is this word play:lol::D

:lol::lol::lol:

To hit silver / Gold is that any restriction on the number of flights I have to do on QF metal?

I keep thinking 4 flights but can't quite find anything.

Yep, 4 flights. They show up in your account activity with a ~, defined as:
"

Eligible flight (Qantas, QantasLink or Jetstar segment) counted towards status attain/retain."

Cheers,
- Febs.

HSV-DFW-MIA-PTY-MIA-DFW-MSP-ORD-DEN - About $1,400 for 630 SC. Would have to play with dates, leaves evening 20th arrives morning 22nd.

DEN-ORD-MSP-MIA-PTY-DFW-MSP-ORD-DEN - If you wanted to take a trip from DEN afterwards, about $1,250 with 650 SC.

DEN-ORD-MSP-MIA-PTY-MIA-MSP-ORD-LAS-LAX-SFO - About $1,300 for 810 SC.

Plenty more to find if you're willing to sit down and play.

What fare class are you quoting above?.

Been doing some routings for a holiday next year. I suppose I'm not looking to status run per se, but dun mind taking the scenic route between places I'm going.

I'm able to go from san fran to the melbourne of the usa (supposedly has the best coffee too ) then off the puerto rico and back to hawaii.

It should earn me 710 SC for 2281. The way I'm looking at it, for a bit of extra money and travel time I'm getting QF gold.

Am I right that with QF becasue my anniversary starts sept 1 that if i achieve gold in october then I keep gold for just about 2 years??

Some alternative destinations and routings showed some possibilities of arriving in the afternoon at DFW / ORD and somewhere else i think, and then leaving the next morning - sort of a free stopover. Has anyone done some travel based on a day her n there to "see' a bit more of the US than they might otherwise get to see? It has a certain appeal, though I think I'd prob want to do it with carryon.

Have to say carry on in the US is most things. BIGGER.

Ok, so my WP expires in 8 days.
I thought to myself, what the heck, its over, let it go, be a stronger man, you don't need the F Lounge anymore........

WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!!!!

So, doing a One World around the world fare in May, in Europe and the US for business, and I have a week up my sleeve in the US, so I figure what the hell, if I get it right, and SC run my tush off, ill be WP for 18 months.

Then I stumble upon Farecompare changing, not happy Jan.
Especially when you have a few potential SC run departure locations.

Anyone aware of a similar tool?

Potential departure locations in May 2012:
BOS
MCO
LAS
LAX
As recommended by Serfty, I'm thinking Puerto Rico may be a good option, or flying back and forth to SEA from LAX.

Thoughts? Ideas?

What's the difference between business with restriction or premium first with restrictions?

When I do the pricing for both they come out the same on the trip I'm planning.

Just wondering if booking as a premium / first would help if there was an issue with getting the first seat instead of down grading back to y.

Makes no difference how you search for the fares. What matters is the booking class/code that AA spits back out in the itinerary : A, F, P for First and C, D, J, I for Business status credits. The AA status runs normally offer A and P for First and I for Business.

You've not got any more or less chance being downgraded if your itinerary was searched via business and higher, or First with restrictions.

OK

Can anyone confirm that LAX - DFW credits at 120 SC in First.

MilageMonkey spits out a distance of 1233 which is uncomfortably close to the QF cut off mark between zone 2 and 3.

Yes, 120 SC's

Additionally, if you're MR'ing down to the Caribbean somewhere from LAX, it's best to route through ORD instead of DFW on the way through MIA for an extra 30SC each way.

At least to SJU it's not letting me do that via ORD, only via MIA on the way over.

Anybody else notice a price increase on YUPP's? I can't seem to get my SC run for under USD $1,300 for the dates that I had tried previously.

Yup ;), I noticed that too. Although I did find that bringing the departure date forward to within 1-2 months brought it back to the same price, and in some cases 10-20% cheaper!

And fwiw, my original 'nice little earner' is now a lot more expensive :-|

For all my subscribers (and those in the special remedial class too) I've got another one for you. 150 SCs for $361. It's similar to my original 'nice little earner' but takes place on the other side of the continent. The clue is... Bart is a Trail Blazer.

thanks, think i will need another little SC run in April, but from the East Coast. will keep this one in mind though.

I need the remedial class, just to get my L Plates in this game.
How do I sign up for Kindergarten level SC Run planning, for basic entry US East Coast based attempts?
Used banknotes in a plain brown wrapper?

Sorry for the hijack, but is there a sticky thread somewhere that explains YUP/KUPs from the beginning? *n00b alert* (did do a search but couldn't exactly find one)

There is probably something listed somewhere. From my understanding that are discounted business or first class fares. Most American Airlines flights only have 2 classes of seating, first and coach (economy), so flights booked into first class get extra status credit per qantas rules - thus the reason to do some discounted first class flights.
