Hello all,
This is an auspicious occasion for me - been a member of AFF (and FT) for a while now but have just redeemed my first miles. Woot woot! Using 30k AA miles to go from SYD to BKK (SYD-HKG leg on QF). My questions are more about perks of my short-lived AA Platinum status. I'm an infrequent and generally economy flyer but I have Platinum until Feb 2017 thx to a challenge. (pretty pointless to do that challenge in retrospect)

Am I correct in understanding that because I am flying economy, despite my Platinum status, I don't qualify for access to any lounges? If that is the case, I have put my name on the lounge calendar hoping to be guested into a lounge the morning of my flight. However, when I browse the fine print, it reads as though I can only be guested by someone who is on my same onward flight. That's not the case, is it?

Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong spot and for my general level of ignorance. I've been a board stalker for long enough that I really should know more but I don't think I learn until I actually do. Any information will be gratefully accepted.

AA plats are entitled to lounge access on QF.It is only in the USA that there is no lounge access on domestic flights for AA elites.
So as long as on a OW airline you will have lounge access in SYD,HKG and BKK.
