Is there a way of making a multi city booking that shows the Instant Upgrade Option or do you just have to keep booking each segment individually?

This functionality seems to be there on the US version of the site, but not on the Australian version.

If using the aa.com site select the "First/Premium: With Restrictions" option under "What Is Your Cabin Service Preference?.

If using aa.com.au the select "First" under "Fare Type" down at the bottom. Select "Lowest Fare" on "How would you like to price your trip?"

Of course, all to often you get the error: "Our lowest fares are not available for the destination and date requested. Please return to the homepage and click on the ?search by schedule? button to find our most attractive fares. (5685 - 2201)" so I have given up on this and use the aa.com search instead.

Yep, the correct URLs' are in the underlying hotlinks but I should have made that clear.

I've put on hold a multi city trip from AA.com - for next year. PER-NRT-JFK-MIA-ORD-SFO-NRT-PER.

All up it came to just over $2100 inclusive of taxes. I understand the domestic flights are pretty simple (pay for food, limited IFE). Has anyone flown an AA 777 from Tokyo? Is it bearable for such a long trip? Also, am I only able to select my seats once the trip has been purchased?

I'm going to be using my QF frequent flyer account (as a bronze). Am I better off to create a new AAdavantage account instead?

Flew with AA ORD-NRT-ORD and found the 777 ok. While it doesn't have the same IFE as SQ or QF it is aceptable and sounds like your price is right. Seats are ok and service is ok.

If you purchase your fare online then you should be able to select seats on the AA legs only when you access your booking via aa.com.

What fare class is it booked into? Some AA codes earn no QF points so it may be better going to AA. Some people here swear AA has better earning rates but it is harder to obtain status. Found out what fare code it is then look to the QF earning table: Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions

The fare code is SLRTIT. So that would be S - considered discount Y by QF. Is that right??? :S
