Obviously early days and both CO and USA are much further down the path with united.but I always wanted to go by GUM.

You are right, by gum.

Then again this link has appeared on COs website so it looks like something is close.More likely to be the merger with UA.

Bloomberg is quoting the NY Times tonight, stating that UA and CO will announce their merger by May 01.

Works for me - CO has a strong presence at EWR.

Please not US, please not US, please not US, please not US, please.......

*A pax don't want them either! US seems to be a total basket-case, which makes even the most cynical AA/UA/NW/DL/CO pax turn cold and pale at the thought of having to fly with them!

Oh I don't know - maybe it's an East v West thing. I've flown them every time I've been to Phoenix and they've been perfectly fine. I certainly rank them above United.

After my short juants with US (LGA-BOS; BOS-DCA; LAS-SFO), I have absolutely no interest in flying them unless there's no other choice, let alone fly long haul with them which I understand isn't any better. They're not called US Scareways for no good reason. ;)

I'm glad our experiences agree QF009.
The best US flights I've been on was when they used to run the LGA-DCA shuttle, because they were the shortest, and they had quite a number of current issue magazines for free (or at least I hope they were free!) at LGA.
