AA Guam South Pacific Loophole

I still have a bunch of AA points saved from the days of bonus points for transfers when everyone in the family managed to get an account.

I used the Guam/South pacific loophole in 2014 and 2016. Where collectively I managed to get 8-10 flights on both occasions for the South Pacific to South Pacific rate.

I have been reluctant to use the points as I have a ton of QF and I’ve really been saving my AA points for maybe another South Pacific run (Tahiti/Guam)

Does it still exist? Have they closed it? There was always a 3rd region issue but have they made any further measures to stop it?
