AA flight as a QF WP

Yep preselected seat, centre rear were the only ones left. Maybe because the booking was only about 2 weeks in advance didn't help, but my QF FF number was definitely in the booking. This was late 2010, so maybe things have improved. Any way doesn't matter I have sub Jetstar expectations of most US domestic carriers when in Y.

I had this in late 2010 on an AA code. Didn't recognise my QF status and only offered rubbish seats. I called in and they were able to assign better seats.

I get the feeling seat selection is highly depended on fare buckets also. I've never flown AA in a fare bucket lower than Y (that was a YUPP so booked in P). I've always had the pick of the plane (subject to cabin purchased in). Even in Y class on a single class grass hopper I had the choice of every seat on the aircraft.

I am a PG with a booking on AA in December with three other family members.
Was able to select all unoccupied Y seats on aircraft including exit rows during seat selection.
Booking in V class.

All on the same booking? It would give you AA platinum seating benefits.

When I fly coach on AA, it's *always* the lowest possible fare. Always get excellent seats. My QFF number is always in at time of booking as well. Sounds like a glitch in the matrix (AA do not discriminate on seating based on fare type in my experience).

When I booked my flights recently and the confirmation hit my email, it displayed that I was a SPH even though I hit WP the week before. Once it updates on the AA system it should flow onto my bookings right?

Cheers for that, :) just hope it updates on their system that I'm a EMD!

No recent experience on AA but I do not remember getting anything special, or even recognition, as a Platinum on 8 economy AA flights.

And did not have access to preferred seats on my flights like other Platinums should have had. Numerous calls to call centre could not fix the issue.

But at the end of the day I don't mind the service and if they can get me from A->B and I earn QF SCs I am happy.

Just flew 2 domestic AA legs - was able to select 3B (first row) for both. Nothin else was special, apart from PB and a free drink.

International x 2 was able to similarly select seats in J- service was ordinary, compared with QF and JL.

What segment were you on? I've never once been offered anything free on AA (with the exception of juice or soda).

A few years ago but received a sandwich and soft drink on red-eye LAX-DCA.

Was that 'at boarding' (the much 'discussed' AA "Bistro" Service-in-a-bag)?

Was it just you offered it JohnK?

I must be the only WP that travels on AA regularly (probably 20 flights a year) and never gets anything (of course on the ground, the AAngels are AAmazing for any OWE!).

Except me drewbles. Never get anything on AA, and terrible seats in Y. The back row on the MD83 is awesome ... Not. You cant hear yourself speak as you are right next to the engines.

Myself, wife and 2 kids were op-uped at the gate from discount Y to J last year LAX-MCO :)

On my (admittedly dodgy) n=1, offered nothing except the usual free soft drink, tea/coffee. Seat selection on AA.com was excellent though.
Seated in emergency exit row (window) with empty seat beside me. Aisle seat was occupied by an AA Exp's +1, the Exp was in adjacent aisle seat and the three of us chatted en-route to the AC/Flagship Lounge.ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1340595927.697850.jpg
Apologies for the gratuitous leg room shot ;)
