AA bonus offer ex-USA for QF flights

Through June 30, AAdvantage members can earn bonus miles for round-trip Qantas flights between the U.S. and Australia as follows:

Economy - 5,000 bonus miles
Premium Economy - 10,000 bonus miles
Business class - 15,000 bonus miles
First class - 20,000 bonus miles

The bonuses also apply to American codeshare flights operated by Qantas. N and Q fares are not bonus-eligible.

Registration is required, using promotion code QF20K.

Deal or No Deal
Considering the distances flown and the generally high airfares for Australia flights -- mid-May round-trips between Los Angeles and Sydney start at around $1,250 -- the bonuses are modest, especially for economy.

But if you're headed Down Under anyway, you might as well say g'day to bonus miles.

I'd be thinking using this as a nested ticket might work.
