Has anyone here dealt with American Airlines Via twitter?

I've used social media in the past to successfully deal with Telstra. So thought I'd give it a go with American Airlines last night.

They replied to me after about half an hour asked me a few questions and then I heard nothing from them again.

I'm trying to work out if lengthy delays is normal with American companies on social media. I have noticed that the traffic on the twitter feed is a lot busier than Telstra's.

Off topic. The above post was written completely via Siri.

No word from them overnight. Anyone else attempted this form of communication?

Have you taken into account time zones? They may have started responding to you and then clocked off for the day, and perhaps need a nudge when they clock back on.

Yes. Taken into account time zones. I only contact them during business hours central standard time. How do you "nudge" on twitter?

To answer my own question, they are bl04dy useless. Yet another area that Australia has customer service advantages. So many companies in Australia that you just to not need to phone anymore. The social teams are really up there is speed and quality of response.

AA do have reps on FT that are useless so it doesn't surprise me.
however not all US companies are the same-SPG does a good job and i have used their facebook reps with very quick responses.Plus the Lurkers on FT have helped me out as well.
