I am booked on Qf 31 to travel Sin/Lhr at Christmas, and have booked 38 J&K in the PE cabin.
My question is whether there is a window at this point? I would class the importance of a functional window over increased leg room and am looking for comments from people who've traveled in this seat.

Cheers,

The answer is yes!:)

This photo is from the flyertalk forums and you can see seat 38K at the back of the left hand side of the cabin. (Left as you look at the picture!)

:)

I have not travelled in this seat, but going by the seat map, I can't see a window:

However, the following photos indicates there is one:

Thank goodness!
I knew someone on here would have the answer. I feel like I've got my cake and will get to eat it (in December ;)).

I've seen this seat map, which is why I asked the question,as it would seem to incidate no window....
The photo in the reply above certainly shows a window, which I think maybe a little to the rear of the seat, but so long as I can see out the window, even if it's only when the seat is reclined, so this should be fine.

Not sure if I'm reading the "map" correctly but is the part I have the red arrow pointing to the window?

I'm in seat 38K in three weeks (LAX-MEL) so will report back with more details and perhaps my own photo. (Unless my points upgrade to J comes through.)

I sat in 38J last July (for about 40 minutes - onboard upgrade to J :)) and don't remember there not being a window there.

I'll look forward to your post... although I wouldn't be so nasty enough to hope you DON'T get your J points upgrade, just so I can have a definative answer to this question :D

Right in front of the Bar. Sweet..

Also you should have the most legroom of any one else in Premium although they might not appreciate you throwing a swag on the floor and having a sleep.:)

I've now had 38K twice, and just to clarify from personal experience - there is most definitely a window at 38K. There's also a very convenient storage bin there.

You can easily see out the window with the seat fully upright.

Well, here's the leg room:

You could easily fit a swag there, but it probably doesn't meet safety requirements :D

I was on OQC yesterday and had a wander upstairs. 38K definitely has a window. However, the same can't be said for those who paid for their exit row seats in row 79 downstairs...

I'd grab 34A; the centre seats have a greatly reduced pitch (38" compared to 42")!
With 34A, you should still be able to access the aisle without too much trouble, unless the pax in 34B is practising some sort of crazy kung fu positions.

Absolutely yes! There is a window for 38K. :)

It is a little colder there as someone else mentioned, but I prefer that. The other minor downside is that you will be unlikely to get a choice on the meal unless you are very lucky. Small prices to pay for a very good Y+ seat! :)

That's a different of 11" over economy's 31" compared to only 7".

I analyse flight loads and choose seats based on that. I prefer the centre aisle seats as the probability of getting someone in the middle (esp if 1x1 row is chosen for PE, or 1x11 for Economy) is requested. But I do follow and re-visit before my flight.

For that one, I chose my seat (it wasn't the one highlighted - I moved it for "security reasons"), but lost the gamble. No worries - the guy next to me zonked out for the entire journey.

Thanks Tony for the confirmation. I too like the cold, and so long as the meal choice that I'm left with isn't fish, I'll be happy as Larry!

38K is much cooler than other seats I've had in the cabin like you mentioned but I absolutely do prefer it as well (I don't heat my bedroom at home even on nights like last night when it was -7'C outside as I sleep much better when it's cool)

Having had 38K as both a Gold and Platinum, I've had my meal choice taken before service has begun to ensure that I got it.

I'm not sure if that's typical, or just because I got a bit chatty and built up a bit of a rapport with the FA sitting opposite before take-off on those flights.

(and yes, in each case the choices had ran out for pax who were served before me).

Thankyou to those who bothered to post pictures. I just nabbed these two seats for our return flight to Heathrow next year! Excellent.

How clear are these photos? Wow so that is what premium economy looks like.

And here is the best photo of the seats, showing window placement, that I've found.....
Turns out it was on the Qantas Website..
