A380 leaves on first London flight - News - Travel - theage.com.au

Australian passengers will now be able to travel the kangaroo route to London on the world's largest passenger plane.

The Airbus A380 superjumbo took off today from Singapore's Changi Airport for its inaugural commercial flight to London, the jet's first European destination.

Flight SQ308, operated by A380 launch customer Singapore Airlines (SIA), departed Changi Airport's new Terminal 3 at 9:19 am (0119 GMT).

Interestingly enough, the next route that SIA will deploy the A380 on is to NRT.

I wouldn't have thought that this was a priority, given they only have a small number of A380s in play at the moment, but there are obviously reasons for it.

You mean connecting first to three oneworld superhubs?
