I didn't see any threads on this. Didn't even hear a rumour. Sure enough, the A380 landed in Sydney tonight about 7 pm.. Should leave on the 8th.
Anyone know where it is parked?

I will look in the morning..6am departure, so long as there is no fog!!!

I'd imagine it's parked near the Corporate Jet apron (an Olympic A340 was there a few weeks ago so the A380 should fit).

Means I drove right past it about an hour ago and didn't even notice :-|

Was to be parked at Gate 24, and then towed to the Jet Base (hanger 96, whichever that is) for the overnight stay. There was talk of doing a circuit over the harbour and a fly-over of Canberra, but these were subject to weather and I don't know if they happened or not.

Given the torential rain here this morning I am not sure a flyover will be happening :(

just did a few loops over the harbour and eastern suburbs and looked like it was heading back over the bridge at reasonably lowish altitude

OK, it's a cold, wet, miserable day here is SYD... but I will attempt to stare out of my window for the rest of the afternoon (actually, not too bad at the moment)... thanks for the heads up.

Jetstar also mooted possible flights to Beijing and Shanghai in which it could replace Qantas flights.

Great to see more capacity on that route but not great to see QF dumping an emerging business market... Guess with KA joing OW QF dont see this as a premium route :(

Back to the A380 though - wish I had been able to see it - was in a restaurant with my back to the bridge :(. Guess I might have to get the early train home - sure this will be on the news there :)

QF523 from BNE was running late, thankfully. As we landed on the third runway I could see helicopters around so I thought it must be close by, and just as we were nearing the end of our taxi at T3, we stopped.......... to give way to the A380 being towed towards the international terminals, seated in 4F (thanks QF) I had a birds eye view right across our nose, looks very nice, but to me not that much bigger than a 747.

Currently sitting in the F lounge (again:D ) and cannot see her around. I depart on BA10 today at 4.40pm so chances are I might get another sneak preview. Would have been great if she was parked at the new gate, right in front of the lounge!!!

She just landed right in front of the lounge, it went largely unoticed. I took a quick video and snaps.

The little (by comparison) DJ73H's are landing and you can hear their reverse thrusters.....the A380 quite as a mouse

Was this actually in QF colours? One of the articales referred to the QF A380 coming back to Syd.

No, all airbus. I will post a link of the pics today if I get a chance.....damn work getting in the way of an interest...........

 I am sorry to be picky, but has QAN not heard of "bluetooth"(or IRDA) so we can get pics quickly from the phone to the Net, in the lounge!
