When one of the domestic product A332’s EBA, EBC, EBE, EBG, EBJ, EBK or EBL operates a regional International flight to say SIN, CGK or DPS does the wifi work offshore?

I’m aware that the iPad streaming IFE still works but curious to know if you can access your socials and play YouTube videos, curious to know as I have a number of sectors coming up on QF71/72.

Website seems to only specify domestic, but I'd be interested to know the answer.

I'm pretty sure they use the domestic A330s between PER and SIN. There is no wifi available on those flights, even when over Australia.

Just checked. I've been on EBE and EBJ on that route and there was no wifi at all.

And here I was thinking that the IFE streaming was delivered by wifi....

Internet will not be enabled/available on Wi-Fi equipped aircraft operating any international sectors at all. You'll get a message telling you it's not available for the flight if you try to connect. This even includes flights to/from Norfolk Island which is actually a domestic flight.

And here I was thinking that the IFE streaming was delivered by wifi....

It is but the content is loaded onto a server physically located on the aircraft and served locally so no actual connection to the internet is required to make it work.
