I'm about to book Per-Syd for early July. Planes are listed as 330 but by the sound of this thread it looks unlikely to stay there. Has anyone been able to check if the 330 is flying from Perth and if it is, is there a regular flight time?
If you are going to book J, ($/points upgrade), and are flexible as to days, you can keep changing the flights to the 330.
Analogy, a few years ago, I had a Sat free, and wanted to feel the plush of the dom 330, can't remember if it was a 332/333, but was definitely QF, MEL to SYD, they kept changing the planes to a 737.
I must have rang them up 3 times, each time having to explain to different CSO as to why I wanted the changes.
In the end, I got my wish, got the 332/333 with the side across body seat belt, MEL - SYD.
Did an overnight layover, ADL - MEL the day before, think it was a school holiday time.
It was a paid J, not covered by anyone else, ...
Every time I thought it would stick, they changed it, as to the time of the day.
Had picked the later evening flight to get back SYD - ADL.
Maybe with the flexible changes allowed, you could phone up each time they change the plane from 332/333 to 737, even if you are in subclass of Y.
