Oh how embarrassing.

Aircraft engine falls onto road in Sydney’s south

So now I wonder -

1. Was the engine for QF or VA?

2. Was the engine damaged?

Police say the man will be issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for drive heavy vehicle not comply load constraint, and class one over-size permit offence. He is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on November 1.

Clearly the article didn't get a look over from spelling or grammar police.

what's the difference between a military engine and commercial (apart from the paint?)

I believe VA use RR Trent 772 on their A330 and the 'offending' engine was from GE.

I liked this bit of the article -

Police will allege the driver used restraints for a 900kg load, when the engine weighed seven tonnes.

Quite optimistic on the drivers part.

Having seen the aftermath of a container falling off a truck onto a car/driver, all I can say is thank God it didnt roll and land on someone/a car.
