No I assmue 9 means 9 or greater, but is that an exceptionally light load only 4 days out?

Just curious if it was accurate, I'm flying as a statusless AA flyer this time instead of QP-PS (on a Plat Challenge) so near zero chance of OpUp... Was just checking anyway (but that puts it from near zero to zero)
Just surprised...

For starters, you'd be looking for 0's in all of the economy classes - but in any case, chances of an op up are zero, and pretty close to zero for a points upgrade, even if you used PS. As you're flying with no status or even QFF, you have a mighty list of people ahead of you.

IME, there are usually sufficient numbers of WPs, let alone SGs, on that flight to secure the points upgrades or any rare op ups.

Even as an AA PLT or EXP I'd think chances of an op up would be pretty unlikely, as I believe WPs and SGs would be cleared first.

Actually, with such loadings, the chances of a points upgrade to Business Class here are quite high (not so for First Class).

E/F shows this: F5 A4 J9 C9 D9 I0 W9 T9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q8 OC X5 E0

The presence of X class (WHY Award) indicates the chances of an operational upgrade are indeed very remote.

Cool - I stand corrected by the serfty. ;)

Is it true that points upgrade are prioritised by status as well? In which case, in addition to being on an upgradable fare, you'd also need to hope that high status pax weren't also going for the upgrade?

Probably not planning on a pts... could only get to PE (M class at the moment and short of the 72K reqd to get to J)

Can you upgrade a AA code share (on QF metal) with QF pts?

Current knowledge seems to indicate that upgrade are firstly prioritised by status and within status, fare level. i.e.

  1. CL > WP > SG > PS > QP > NB
  2. Y > B > H > K > M > L > V > S (only surmising here)

I think it needs to be booked on the QF flight number...

Thought as much...
Thanks...
I assume the converse is true (No using AA pts to upgrade an AA coded QF metal flight)?
