A little note I got from Westpac.

Effective 1 December 2010 the number of Altitude points required to redeem for gift cards and vouchers is increasing.

About time too. They have let the banking fraternity down. First they were good enough to increase their base rate out of sync with the Reserve Bank and now they almost let the year close without reducing the redemption value.

From memory they usually did it like clockwork each year ~ March. They almost let it slip a whole year.

I wonder if the airline transfer rate changes?

I hope not. I would consider putting my points across now to Krisflyer if that was the case. My only concern would then be that they are sitting somewhere where they have a limited life expectancy.
