I am pleased to advise that Qantas will resume A380 services, commencing with an initial A380 service to London via Singapore on Saturday 27 November.

We have undertaken a rigorous inspection program in conjunction with Rolls Royce and Airbus to ensure the fleet is ready to return to service.

We always put safety first, and we continue to take a conservative approach to the reintroduction of the A380 fleet. So we will initially operate the A380 between Australia and the United Kingdom. As more A380s come into service, we will assess when and how best to deploy them.

I want to assure you that we have full confidence in our A380 aircraft fleet, and will not fly any individual aircraft unless we are completely sure that it is safe to do so.

Qantas has six A380s in its fleet, and is scheduled to take delivery of two new A380s before the end of this year, and a further two next year. With our fleet of more than 250 aircraft, we are able to maintain a full international and domestic network, so you can book and fly with us with confidence.

I want to thank you for your loyalty and patience. On behalf of all of us at Qantas we deeply regret any inconvenience. We look forward to welcoming you warmly when next you fly.

you beat me to to Sefty! Mine arrived just before!

Alan's making a bit of a habit sending me emails to soothe my concerns, I would much rather he address the issues with a double SC offer rather than just words!

I would dearly love that email too, but preferably after April next year when my SC year resets, as it is i have more than enough for this current year!

The warm welcome is what I'm looking forward to, oh yeah, double SC's would be nice as well. Is it only Platinum flyers getting this email? SWMBO and my cat have not had the email yet...

SG here, email in inbox when I got to work this am.

Weren't you one of the random beneficiaries of such an offer earlier this year?

Yes, I was , does not hurt by asking, besides with DJ upping the ante I am expecting things to be not so normal in the coming year when it comes to such promotions, I also received double SCs in 2001 as a WP when Ansett mark 2 was due to come online, so there is a precedent.

I am SG and received it this morning. Mini miss nlagalle who is a nb got it about 30 mins after me..

Well, fingers crossed anyway. :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I assume this is a result of the requests in the your ideas thread for more email communication and more emails.

Gosh I'm a silly billy!!

A message from Alan with 13 other replies - must be in-depth discussion on the merits of the Qantas approach. Nope. Just 13 versions of navel-gazing.

Is there some filter for rubbish that I can apply to AFF as I don't have as much time to waste as some?

Yes, 2 in fact. First option shift-delete, enter.
Second option, change subscription settings for AFF or for individual threads.

Edit: should be shift delete to proactively remove unwanted email.

I'm using a different approach! By applying lean thinking and processes in my business I can free up more time to read the AFF threads. :p

I didn't get an email from Mr Joyce......but then again I chose to unsubscribe from Qantas emails.

And your contribution improved the quality of AFF how exactly?

Interestingly I have yet to receive this email.

Hear, hear.

All you have to do Moody is use the new posts function, and don't read the threads which aren't of any interest to you. Problem solved.

I got the broadcast email, my first of these CEO emails, and had a couple of follow-up exchanges with Alan. Not many CEOs would take the time.

He appears to be a good bloke.
