A major reason for being in the Savegre Valley was to spot the famed Resplendent Quetzal. I’ve already shown upthread a picture of a male in full mating plumage (notably the extraordinarily long tail) taken in the local research centre (it died flying into a window).

We spotted a female and male. The male was in the very early stages of mating plumage development.

Just looking over my photos from the rest of the trip in S & N Dakota and Russia, I think I covered those places adequately on the go upthread with pics from my iPhone.

So I'll call time on this TR.

In a little over four weeks I'll be heading to Sudan for two weeks using a combination of J & F QF points redemption on EK there and back :).

Can't wait - for the flights and to explore Sudan! :)

What a world trip! Interested in your section on Iguazu Falls. Really liked the photos of the animals / birds. We will be there next September, so looking forward to seeing the falls and the animals.
