Feeling refreshed I ventured through Business Class - my that was crowded :p

and up to the bar. Lots of things going on back there and it was noisy.

These guys were happy to pose and wanted me to tag them on facebook.

I escaped with a baileys and back to my comfy seat.

Its surreal now. Can't see me flying F again unless its a free upgrade.

And night views

Immigration was fast, luggage piling out as we arrived at the bays and straight through custom. Grabbed a taxi (a van, I hate taxi vans) and on to my salubrious abode.

The service of the crew was fantastic. I was spoken to several times by the purser. The crew seemed very happy to oblige with any request.

Did they have any Paradis left?

Hoping for some in May but I think they have exhausted their stock.

I am still on NZ time and woke up around 4am. Not a bad night sleep in this closet called Ibis. Slept with the suitcase jammed to the door, just in case! :p.

Have organised the shuttle to the airport for 8am - costs the same as the van taxi I took last night. Not planning on eating here, will use the club. Of course the profile hasn't updated to SG yet - I am thinking Monday. Flying Bris - Melb - Adelaide with a 45 minute connection time so fingers crossed.

It scares me to think how "cluttered" business class was!. But I wont pay for First again - it will need to be done through points or using the AA scheme. Um, having said that we did book Dubai - Sydney on F on QF A 380 - but that was through AA. That doesn't count.

Purchased $7.50 for two hours internet here - of course MrP is still in NZ and had sent me work to do. I'm pretty much out of contact once I start flying so no choice but to get onto it now. That took an hour or so and have around an hour before I leave on the shuttle.

I did receive an upgrade me Auction email the other day - but not worth it. Then I received an email advising I could use points for the other leg of the trip. Not worth it.

Blackcat - if the opportunity arises and it isn't full cost F, then it is something to trial out. It is a lot of fun. Just one of those frivolities to do as a once off.

Looks big here :p

Wise words indeed. I needed the voice of sanity. Like MrP. I'd never eat it when he's around to see me. :p

That pie is amazing. I had it a few weeks ago in the Auckland lounge - very tasty. I have been in the QF F lounge a Auckland a few times and it is a joke compared to what you get in the Emirates lounge. In the same way the Y seat space on a 738 is a joke compared to Y in the EK A380. Amazed that QF are still in business TT.

In BNE QP now. Took an earlier shuttle. Although I was tempted by the $12 buffet offered - NOT. Busy lounge. Nice toasted ham and cheese sandwich. Cappucino.

I'd let my paid QP lapse in January knowing I'd be SG shortly then realised it wouldn't come through before today's flight. Thankyou again to Flying Mermaid for the QP pass.

I want to travel.....therefore I must work!

This looks a wonderful option for a little jaunt. Thanks for sharing, now I'm green.

I take it you made it home

Is like to work too but unexpected redundancy got in the way...

Yep. Home. A week back at work and then Easter. MrP - not home until this morning and then off to Sydney and Melbourne for some exciting but scary business development meetings.

It is indeed a good way to experience the Emirates F product on an A380 even if just one way. The BNE route is the discounted one.

Queen Mary 2 is in Adelaide tomorrow. I shall decline to visit. :p

Keeping fingers crossed you get a breakthrough blackcat20. My son was getting worried a few months ago in Sydney and then in the space of a week was offered three jobs.

And lookie:

Hope something comes through for you soon. Fingers crossed. Not sure what the situation is like in MEL. It's all still very iffy here. My job is only there as long as I am in it; it's been targeted as excess in the new structure.

I figured reaching SG and MrP WP will help our next upgrade request in July. And then Emirates loves rewarding QFF'ers wherever possible. Seems to be common out of Adelaide.
