Nah. YES.... With DOM and camera.

You need to be careful of mirrors!

Ok. The Food. Very nice.

No Oyster specials.

Appetisers. Both specials.

Prawn in tempura batter with wasabi smear.

Stuffed (I'm sure it was stated more eloquently ;) ) nasturtium flowers.

Both very fresh and elegant.

My hankering for NZ lamb

I feel a foody lust attack coming on.

I was lucky 'cos I had been on the Maglev last time in Shanghai but no cashmere or silk and a pocketful of CNY left over :(

Waiting for those F shower pics!

I'm glad you and MrP decided to treat yourselves to a refined meal at Euro before you left - you deserve it and life is too short. Still one place in AKL I need to take Mrs QF WP. Maybe in May when we're there...

That looks suspiciously like a zucchini / courgette flower to me ?

Of course. Zucchini it was. :p

Well, it seems MrP has dined there previously. He took a client there a month ago. The client, being NZ based suggested Euro. Now I know why as our business picked up the tab.

Auckland weather just like Melbourne. Four seasons in a day. Its now wet. And wet means traffic. Stuck in it on the way to the airport. Lucky I'm earlyish.

Into the Emirates Lounge. All one class, just like Adelaide. :p

It is quite busy given it is three hours until the first flight out.

Nice selection of small plates

But more importantly

And:

I ventured to the back which is somehow designed for First but its a free for all. The choccies above are first chocs (?). And I've located the Baileys. But Veuve first.

Just realised the cricket is a replay. Thought the oval looked like Adelaide. Doh!

The exclusive but it isn't, First area.

Another

(I'm doing a BlackCat impersonation trying to avoid taking a photo of someone ;))

And looking out at the view of ...... Shops!

And a toast to blackcat with Veuve. :p. On my own in a crowd.

Cricket now live. I've moved seats again and left the empty glass(es) behind. Self service here.

Do I need to eat a butter chicken pie?

I want to board early to get the most of the F experience. MrP who doesn't leave until Saturday and flying Air NZ but in a PE just shakes his head. It's good to keep him slightly rumpled.

Depends on how big the pie is. I assume one wants to save enough room for the onboard experience.

No, don't eat too much in the EK Lounge, if there is no a specific F menu there. Just allow yourself to enjoy the relative calmness of the Lounge versus the chaos at the Gate...because inside in F will be nirvana again :D

Wise words indeed. I needed the voice of sanity. Like MrP. I'd never eat it when he's around to see me. :p
