Just got the email. Wondering what the two special events are? I'm guessing they're Olympic or Diamond Jubilee related?

Launch of the latest enhancement - Jetstar to London!

Just Kidding...*i hope*

I love marketing spin, in particular the reference to flying the whole way from Australia to London on the 380.

Yes it does asterix saying from Melbourne and Sydney, but it references how the 747 from other capital cities may connect with the 380 services.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are you not on a 330 from Adelaide and Perth?;)

You can not fly Y+ from PER can you?

Pity we are already heading that way that week in J...

My favourite bit is the flying to EU via South Africa and the US. Yes, we really enjoy all the options

Olympics I presume.
Mens Tennis Final, Womens Marathon are main events.

T&C's describe a "draw" but then "the most creative entry wins"

The most ridiculous part of the promotion was the email that went around spouting the ''many ways to fly to Europe using points'' which was then followed by several dot points outlining how one can use QF and BA to get back and forth between LHR. There's really ever anything in the way of promotion of the QF5/6 service to and from FRA.

Last time I checked the UK was not on the continent, doesn't share the European currency (although that's hardly desirable at the moment) and there's a damn sight more to Europe than Old Blighty. I am a QF fan, but their anglo, monoglottic view of the world has surely played some role in the shrinking of their international market share.

Technically they are part of the EU though :p But I get your point. ;)

There is no technically about it. Great Britain is part of the European continent even if it isn't part of the continental land mass.

Sorry, poor lexicon on my behalf. What I meant by 'on the continent' was that the UK is not part of what is considered 'continental/mainland Europe'.

Also I never said they weren't part of the EU. Having the Euro is not the only criteria here. ;)

Nevertheless, my argument remains the same.

In these competitions, the T&Cs usually say FF points are not included. Does that include SCs?

My SIL is currently doing a creative writing course.......we will see how creative she really is!

I just put in entries for me and the other half. He said to me: "no way am I flying Y+"! How quickly you can spoil them. :p
