With 2020 nearly gone and without parking my bum in a big plane seat since January, the QF offer a couple of weeks ago to extend status until 2022 with one flight was the trigger to do something. But not wanting to take the risk of leaving WA and getting caught by re-slammed door because of a pizza shop debacle or equivalent, as recently happened to my son’s partner, where to go within WA was the question?
The longest QF flight in a bird with J is PER-BME. OK, that’s it.
Now Broome does not do a lot for me. Been there plenty of times as the entry/exit point for the Kimberley and Pilbara. It’s rapidly sliding into off-season as the Wet is getting going.
What the heck; just an overnight stay will be something to do and to suss out what sort of service QF is offering at present. And, praise be, sharing of the J Lounge with the SG, PS, NB riff-raff has just ended…
My brother hasn’t been to BME for a while and SIL not at all. Along they'll come for the ride.

So, it’s out on the 1540h bird this afternoon; back on the 1600h bird tomorrow.
Hmmm, wonder what the weather will be like?
Uh-oh… Is this the makings of a tropical cyclone?

Apparently not. The monsoon trough that favours cyclone development is present, but the lows are too weak to become a TC. But it’s going to rain!
