Hi,

A bit of long range planning here. Have read this thread and thought it had some great ideas in it. http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/your-questions/day-in-hong-kong-8009.html However it is locked now, hence a new one.

Have just booked Mrs 11 and Jnr 11 PER-HKG-JFK next Dec (in J, how nice am I? :D). I'll be following a week or so later and unlike them I wish to get the early arriving flight into HKG and the last flight out. It leaves 12 hours in total on the ground but I'll call it 8-10 given 2 x immigration and some lounge time.

I've been to HK a few times so I've done most of the real touristy things but am happy to do a couple again.

Here's my intended things to do:

1. Tim Ho Wan at HKG station for some Dim Sum (usually easy/quick for a solo);
2. Fa Yuen St market (not the Ladies market, but close to them);
3. Sham Shui Po for some gadget shopping and a great Coconut Milk drink.

Optionals for me are:

1. The Peak (did it a few years ago but I think I'll add this one for the fun of it)
2. Nathan Road TST (a few golf shops near The Salisbury)

Questions:

1. Will my Octopus Card I kept from a month ago still be valid when I return;
2. Any other suggested items; and
3. Does anyone have recent experience of the CX Arrivals Lounge looking after their luggage (I'll travel Carry-on only) for that length of time?

Thanks

The Arrivals lounge used to store hand luggage. They give you a small chit which you give back on your return. Not sure if the rules have changed in the last couple of years. No reason to suspect they have.

If the arrivals lounge no longer offers that service there are alternatives in the main arrivals hall.
