According to Australian Business Traveller, the 787 is coming to Australia next month (I presume they mean October) for a promotional tour: Qantas brings Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Australia next month - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

Apart from the chance to see the plane itself (which I saw in the Boeing factory in 2007, expecting it to be flying the next year!), the article has the interesting claim that Qantas (as well as Jetstar) will be flying the 787 from 2013:

The Dreamliner will carry both Qantas and Jetstar livery, reflecting that both airlines will employ the 787 from early 2013 on international and domestic routes.

Now that's news to me; I've seen 2015-16 mentioned as the timeframe for the first QF 787, which has caused many QFFs to complain that Jetstar is getting the new planes first.

I wonder if this is just speculation on AusBT's part, or if there's some new development.

Oh joy I can’t wait to see the 787 in a dual Qantas/Jetstar livery… foreshadowing things to come :p

Though it’s not coming to my city :/

So one side qf one jq? Or will they just put "jetstar a qantas group company...when it suits us"

Looking forward to seeing the big bird.

When the details of this come out, I'll certainly look into going down to SYD/MEL for the day to have a look at the 787. I've seen it being assembled at the Boeing Factory over at Seattle, but I'd love the chance to see the inside.

Would be nice to see it again, :)

So who has had a look inside the 787. :p

I saw the first one's on the production line in Seattle as well (nearly 3 years ago now) and it was at that same visit that the first V Australia 777 was reaching the end of the line! I then saw the ANA 787 parked at Boeing field in January this year - next to a new QF 738.

Likely to be in Sydney each week for the next 3 so will try to check it out.
