I was lucky enough to get F on my QF mel to Sing next march on points which in itself is great . Originally it was showing QF9 was a 747 but a couple of weeks ago it changed to A380 . Same on the way back on QF10 . Is this likely to change again or will it stay as is ?

I'd say it'll be an A380. It's unlikely to change back... That said, there are no guarantees and until you're in the air the aircraft type can change.

I think they're getting another A380 at the end of the year, and a couple more next year, so as has been noted, as more appear, more routes/services will change to them.

Two months ago I did F seat 3A on the A380 from SYD to LAX, and it was a great seat, so try and pre-allocate your seat now so that you don't get one of the ones in the middle section. I know there is no such thing as a bad seat in F, but the sides just seem to have that different feeling.

Only because of the window. However it's almost a useless appendage because your seat is somewhat distant from it.

Quite agree with you, codash: have flown both sides and also middle - honestly, can't really fault any of the seats on the A380. And given the offset of the window in relation to the seat, even more of a useless appendage.

QF 9/10 should be pretty well 100% A380 by March. Latest I've heard is 3 by the end of the year. Another in Jan/Feb.

Planespotters world* indicates
  • OQG is to be delivered next month (Charles Ulm)
  • OQH (Reginald Ansett[!]) and OQI (David Warren) in 1st Quarter 2011
  • OQJ, OQK & OQL in 3rd Quarter 2011.
  • OQG, OQH, OQI and QOJ have already had their first flight with the latter about 6 weeks ago.

If you could pass some of that luck this way it would be appreciated!;)
No Probs . Originally looked at the A380 out of syd on a ASA but the total of points required for that was extreme so decided to stick with the 747 out of mel and whatdya know .
