Hi - I've seen some discussion on the QF6, but it's not clear if the 747 used on that route is the modern skybed or the 9 degree "slippery dip" seat. I'm on a 747 day (early March), and the seat selection system on the upper deck is showing an 18th row...does that mean the older config? I'm not overly fussed, as I don't think there's a bad business seat when you're used to economy near the back toilets...and your carry on had to be relocated 15 rows further up...

Jeez, I butchered the thread title - it is supposed to say QF6 SIN-SYD...been a long day...maybe a moderator can fix-up - can't see a way of editing thread titles myself.

Righto, I'll take some masking tape to prevent slippage.

My tip for the Mk 1 is to not recline the seat back all the way and then retract the footrest to a comfortable position. This then creates more of a cradle position without feeling like a seat and prevents the inevitable slide.

Incidentally, I had my first experience of a Mk2 the other day on the A380 back from HKG. It was one that was suffering from footrest droop, so the end result was very similar to a Mk1.

A tip I agree with. Have flown Korean Air in business with a slight incline, so a juggle of the settings can work. Have also decided to go for 4E, having found another thread on QF6. Don't need a window for night time, and seen Sydney from the sky many a time.

Or you could get lucky and get one of the old F seats in the nose if it is one of those birds. Worth keeping an eye on, those seats are great - even with the opening to insert your video cassette!

Agreed. I now pick middle aisle seats for night flights, then there is no need to disturb a neighbour or be disturbed by a neighbour if seated in the window pair.

I think it is actually a 4 class 747...so will stick with 4E....unless I can be persuaded otherwise...
